This page is in memory of JACOB ELIAS BATCHELOR who
went to be with the lord JESUS CHRIST at the young age of 18 . He loved the outdoors and
lived as much as one could. I pray that I will take his memory and enthusiasm with me
every time I enter the woods. I hope each and every one of you can respect and love the
outdoors as much as he did. This page will fall way short of what it is meant to do but I
will share what I can of him with you. Please enjoy and be safe, life can be short.
Ed Batchelor (jeb)
- Jake's first deer was taken by bow and arrow out of the same tree stand that I took my
first bow deer from. I was hunting about a quarter of a mile away when I heard Jake
holler "Dad." After a short tracking job we came upon this fine doe.
Jake had arrowed her perfectly for a clean kill and a fine trophy, that I will
never forget.
- Jake killed this buck with a rifle about 1/4 of a mile west of our house. At
this point in time a far better buck than I had ever taken. Neighbors helped him get
it to the house.

This memorial was put together by Jake's older brother,
Eddie and friends. They parked Jake's pick-up inside the gate of the cemetary, the
day of his funeral, and filled the back with all his favorite things. You can see
where his heart was, these were the things that made Jake tick.

Jake died on August 9, 1991, in a 3-wheeler accident, in our pasture.
